Congregation Beth El seeks an Executive Director ready to provide financial, operational, and administrative leadership for our organization, which includes a nursery school, after-school program, and summer day camp.

When the organizational and operations systems are running well, you spend your day actively listening and problem-solving with staff, community members, and clergy. This role is a perfect blend of planning strategically and creatively, leading and supporting a sizable staff, and staying on top of vital details relied upon by our staff and community. With abundant high-quality resources, well-crafted systems, and supportive staff, you’ll lead the smooth operation of an organization dedicated to creating a sense of belonging and “kehillah kedoshah,” sacred community.

We’re looking for someone who relishes onsite work surrounded by warm people with shared values and respectful differences of opinion. The starting pay for someone early in this type of role is $135k; someone with additional relevant experience may start at $150k. It includes an 8-week paid sabbatical for every 5 years of continual service and generous time off: four weeks annually for the first three years, five weeks per year thereafter. Beth El pays for your medical benefits (you can add a spouse and children at your cost). We also offer a 3% retirement match after one year and employees have more than standard holidays off, based on the U.S. and Jewish calendars.

If this opportunity excites you, please send your resume and cover letter to edjob@bethelberkeley.org
